The Session: This is the beginner-friendly samba class you’ve been waiting for! Whether you’ve been wanting to try to learn samba, or you want to build your confidence by giving yourself a new goal to achieve- this is the session for you. Participants will learn basic samba technique, styling, and vocabulary in a weekly-class format. Participants will exhibit their style and performance skills in a new piece of choreography that will both challenge them and enhance their samba training by putting it all on display for a Summer Recital performance in a gorgeous professional theatre for their friends and family to attend on Saturday, May 24th.

The entire performance package includes 6 hours of in-class instruction, and an additional hour of dress rehearsal and an additional open-studio day of practice time to make sure you are feeling your very best before you get on stage. Performing is not mandatory, but we urge all of our students to strive for the stage!

Investment: Performance fees go towards coordinating your performance, ordering and shipping your costume, extra rehearsal time, and hiring a professional photographer for the performance. Performance participants have the option to RENT or BUY their performance costume. Performance fees are a one-time-per-show fee. Dancers taking one performance progressive or three performance progressives will only pay a single $50 fee.

$150 - 6-weeks of class + instruction (Does not include costume or performance)
$99- performance fee + rental of your costume (to be returned at the end of the session)
$150- performance fee + keep your costume

Costumes:

-Costume is a deep green bodysuit + skirt with gold embellishments, suited to the sizing selected by the performer
-Dancers who already have this costume need not purchase another one

Important Dates:
-Wednesday, September 10th: free trial class
-Wednesday, September 17th: Session begins
-Saturday, October 25th: Blocking rehearsal time TBD
-Wednesday, October 29th, 6-9pm: Mandatory Dress rehearsal
-Sunday, November 2nd: (mandatory tech rehearsal in the early afternoon, + show in the evening)
